Car Detailing Guide
Step 1: Vacuum Interior

What's needed:

  • Wet/dry shop vacuum or a home vacuum with the proper extensions
  • Power supply for the vacuum

The first step in detailing your vehicle is to take some time to give it a good vacuuming. Pull all of the floor mats out of the car, shake off any loose dirt, and then use a good quality shop vac to vacuum the floor mats, seats and carpets. You want to do this first so if any dust comes out of the shop vac, it doesn’t land on the car you just spent time cleaning. So take some time -- a good vacuuming really makes a big difference.

Tips:

  1. For even cleaner carpets, use a clean nylon bristled brush to agitate the carpet. The brush loosens more of the dirt and allows the vacuum to work more effectively.
  2. Use a carpet stain remover to remove any carpet stains you find.
