Step 5: Polishing/Waxing

What's needed:

  • Eagle One NanoWax® Liquid or New Spray formula
  • Applicator pad, soft sponge, or clean towel for application
  • Clean, soft terry towel or Eagle One Microfiber Towel (included in the package)

The first step is to determine if your paint will benefit from an application of NanoWax. We recommend that you apply wax if water is not beading on your wet car or if you see swirl marks, scratches, stains, etc. When applying wax to your car, we recommend a shaded area. This will keep the surface cool, which will save you time and effort. Although, if time is an issue our new NanoWax Spray formula can be applied in the sunlight with no negative effects to your paint. Just spray and wipe.

If using our liquid wax, begin by using a soft, clean applicator (we prefer terry-cloth wrapped foam pads or regular foam pads) and apply a small amount of wax (about the size of a quarter). Apply wax to one section at a time using a back-and-forth movement. Allow the wax to haze, and then use a clean towel to remove. We recommend using the Microfiber Towel (that comes with the wax), folded in quarters. A folded towel visually shows which sections of the towel you have used. Rotate this often to maximize wax-removal efficiency and help prevent scratches. Continue this method until you have waxed the entire vehicle.

Tips:

  1. If you are short on time or are between liquid waxes use NanoWax Spray. It is a quick and easy way to get great wax protection and shine in minutes. You just spray on and wipe as you go.
  2. More is not better when using liquid NanoWax. Use a quarter-sized amount of NanoWax and distribute it evenly across the surface. Reapply as necessary.
  3. Another benefit to using a folded towel is that it reduces the amount of pressure you are applying and will be less likely to cause scratches.
