Q. I was told my wheels were chrome-plated when I bought them. How do I know for sure?
A. The easiest way to tell if your wheels are chrome plated is to take a little metal polish and rub it on a clean area of the wheel. If you get black off the wheel surface, your wheels are polished aluminum, not chrome plated.
Q. I used Chrome & Wire Wheel Cleaner on my polished aluminum wheels accidentally and I was wondering how to remove the white stains.
While not the easiest task, you can use our Mag & Aluminum Polish product and achieve excellent results. Since the area was oxidized by the acid in the Chrome & Wire Wheel Cleaner, you have to buff the wheel down beyond the damage. If you cannot get the wheel back to the original condition, you can have the wheel professionally polished
